Bishop Cecil Newton
Bishop Cecil Newton serves as Pastor of Holy Zion Ministries in Newnan Ga. He is the Bishop of Holy Zion Ministries, Inc. with locations in Statesboro, Metter and Twin City GA. With over 30 years of Pastoral experience, he is inspired to communicate the messages of salvation, family dedication, education, character development, and perseverance.
Bishop Newton is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He has been married to First Lady Jackie Newton for 30 plus years. Bishop Newton has three sons – Cecil Jr., Cameron and Caylin. He attended C.L. Harper High School, followed by Savannah State University, where he studied electrical engineering. After college, he pursued a master’s degree in divinity. Bishop Newton also played for the Dallas Cowboys NFL team for two years. Bishop Newton is dedicated to guiding and giving back to the community. He has led a variety of programs, including college prep classes; Little League sports teams, drug awareness seminars and mentoring sessions.
Bishop Newton is the President of the Cam Newton Foundation. He is involved in the Foundation’s work in both the Newnan, Atlanta and Charlotte communities. The Foundation through partnership with Holy Zion sponsors various events in the Newnan community: a back to school supply give-away event, a male mentoring program, an annual Thanksgiving dinner and weekly tutorial services for Coweta County youth. Bishop Newton firmly believes that Faith, Family and Education are the keys to living a successful life.
1st Lady Jackie Newton
First Lady Jackie Newton serves as the Praise and Worship Leader, as well as the Director of the Women’s Ministries at Holy Zion under the leadership of her husband Bishop Cecil Newton. She is an ordained Minister who serves the Community by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all she comes in contact with on a daily basis. First Lady Newton is the founder and Director of M.A.D.E (Mothers and Daughters Excelling), an outreach program that provides economic and Spiritual support to Women and Girls of all backgrounds.
First Lady Newton is married to Bishop Cecil Newton; is the Mother of three (3) sons, Cecil, Jr., Cameron and Caylin. First Lady Jackie Newton is the daughter of the late Bishop Talmadge & Mother Bernice Wilder founders of Holy Zion Holiness Church. She is a native of Savannah, Georgia and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Savannah State University. She retired from AT&T with 23 years of service.
First Lady Newton works alongside her husband Bishop Newton with the Cam Newton Foundation’s work in the Newnan, Atlanta and Charlotte communities. Through partnership with Holy Zion they sponsor various events in the Newnan community. First Lady Newton’s goal is to continue to build up the kingdom of God by spreading the word and showing love.
